Add electric air conditioning to an EV or hybrid conversion

VEHICLE UPGRADES

Add electric air conditioning to an EV or hybrid conversion

Choose the compressor voltage only after the vehicle electrical architecture, isolation strategy, control interface and complete refrigerant circuit are defined. Cabin cooling and battery/power-electronics cooling are separate design duties.

BEST STARTING POINT

A voltage-matched electric compressor integrated into a complete cabin A/C circuit, with any traction-battery thermal management treated as a separate engineered system.

SYSTEM APPROACH

How this comes together

01

Low voltage

Use 12 V or 24 V only where the electrical system can continuously supply the required current.

02

High voltage

Select the exact compressor variant around the traction-bus operating window and controller interface.

03

System integration

Coordinate VCU demand, interlocks, pressure protection, condenser fans, contactors and diagnostics.

BEFORE BUYING

Information that confirms the selection

Provide what you know. Unknown items can be resolved during technical review.

  • Vehicle and conversion architecture
  • DC bus nominal and operating range
  • Cabin heat load and target duty
  • Control signal and VCU interface
  • Isolation, contactor and service requirements
  • Refrigerant circuit and heat-exchanger selection

CONFIGURED PROJECT

Need the parts confirmed as one system?

Send the application, voltage, available power, operating environment, required duty and installation constraints. We will review the configuration before quoting.
